Skilled & Employer
Design the role first. The application follows the structure, not the other way around.
Sponsored pathways involve three related decisions: whether the business can sponsor, whether the position can be nominated, and whether the candidate meets the requirements. Each is assessed on its own facts.
What we assess
- The business, its operations and its capacity to meet sponsorship obligations
- The position: duties, remuneration, location and how it maps to occupation requirements
- The candidate's qualifications, experience, English and any prior visa history
- Timing pressures on both sides, including current visa expiry and business need
What we advise on
- Whether the arrangement is viable before commitments are made to a candidate
- What obligations the business is taking on and how they are documented
- The correct sequence of sponsorship, nomination and application
- Alternatives where the sponsored route is not the strongest option available
Being straight with you
Sponsorship is an ongoing compliance relationship. Where a role or a business is not currently in a position to support one, we say so rather than progressing an arrangement that cannot be defended later.
